On February 18, from tentatively 1 - 4 PM; The Communications Working Group is hosting a DSA Media Relation and Spokesperson Training at UE Hall. With the DSA's continued popularity in the last year and our wide range of campaigns, the DSA is getting more and more attention from the media at both a local and national level. We're hoping to prepare our members for this attention, so that they can confidently and effectively handle an interaction with the press. Run by CDSA members Kenzo Shibata and Abby Agriesti, both of whom have experience running media campaigns, the training will go over how to build effective messaging for a campaign, how to give an interview, plus cover press releases and reaching out to reporters.

We're hoping for attendees from all the different Working Groups within CDSA so that as many DSA campaigns as possible have people working on them who are trained in media relations. We also encourage women, POC, as well as disabled and non-binary folks to attend as it's important to have your voices at the forefront of our movement. We'll see you all there!
