On March 1st, the Workers’ Rights Board will hold a hearing to discuss what VA privatization would mean for veterans. The hearing will feature Suzanne Gordon a well known writer and expert in the field of VA care, veterans speaking to their experience of using both the VA and the private sector, and VA employees who have dedicated their lives to serving veterans.
The debate over veterans’ health care is raging in Washington, DC. While veterans overwhelmingly want care from the VA, some in Congress are looking to turn veteran care over to the costly for-profit private sector. Private hospitals do not have qualified staff trained in the specific and unique needs of the veteran community. Furthermore, drawing resources away from an already under-resourced agency will put the future of the VA in peril.
The nation promised veterans that it would take care of us. We deserve the best health care. Come learn about this issue and join the fight to save the VA.
